LEGO Honors Frank Lloyd Wright's 150th Birthday With New Guggenheim Set
Complete with a section of Fifth Avenue.
LEGO has launched a new kit under its architectural model series that centers upon The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York City. The latest set pays homage to legendary architect Frank Lloyd Wright‘s 150th birthday on June 8. Wright was commissioned to design the art institution which was completed back in 1959. The model boasts a total of 744 pieces that form the museum’s circular rotunda, limestone tower, and facade lettering. Not to mention, LEGO also reimagined a section of Fifth Avenue in front alongside the city’s ubiquitous yellow taxi cabs.
“This accurately detailed LEGO model faithfully recreates the curves and distinctive lines that have made this building an architectural icon for the last half-century,” LEGO professed in a statement.
