For Spring/Summer 2018, Japanese label John Lawrence Sullivan brought exaggerated proportions from late ’70s post-punk era to London Fashion Week. Designer Arashi Yanagawa created statuesque silhouettes boasting elongated, wide-legged trousers, fitted waists and wide shoulders in various shades of satin, pinstripes and khakis. Elsewhere, glossy leathers, cropped denim jackets and knee-high boots nod to punk influences, amplified by accessories such as metal hardware belts, retro shades and skinny ties. Heavy doses of red on black, as well as hits of pink and purple round out the rebellious vein of the line, while graphic T-shirts and hoodies tie back to contemporary streetwear.
