Maison Margiela & MYKITA Drop Their Latest Collaborative Sunglasses
New additions to the “TRANSFER,” “RAW,” and “ESSENTIAL” families.
Maison Margiela and MYKITA return with their latest range of collaborative eyewear for the Summer 2017 season. This time around, the drop includes new takes on their “TRANSFER,” “RAW,” and “ESSENTIAL” silhouettes. While the “TRANSFER” is billed as “a triumph of modern handcraft” thanks to its irregular texture and mineral vein pattern, the “RAW” sports unpolished acetate construction to create “a contrast between classic form and fragmented exterior.” Finally, the “ESSENTIAL” series puts a modern spin on classic stainless steel frames while applying a thick yet transparent powder coating to the steel and employing matching lenses for a monochromatic aesthetic.
