Dennis McCarthy Explains All the Iconic 'Fast and Furious' Cars
From Brian’s GT-Rs to Dom’s Chargers and all the custom toys in between.
With the eighth installment in the Fast and Furious franchise, The Fate of the Furious, hitting theaters last weekend, Dennis McCarthy — the picture car coordinator for the series and other Hollywood blockbusters — sat down with Wired to discuss all the iconic and major builds in the franchise. Dennis goes over all the major muscle cars, JDM imports and specialty vehicles from all eight movies so those who don’t want the eighth movie spoiled should stop a few minutes short in the video.
The nostalgic tour spans the iconic Mitsubishi Eclipse and Toyota Supra MK IV that Paul Walker drives in the first movie to Vin Diesel’s ‘70 Dodge Charger. From there, the breakdown includes nearly every Nissan Skyline GT-R, Honda S2000, Han’s Veilside Mazda RX-7, Buick Grand National, Subaru WRX STIs, Hobbs’s Gurkha LAPV, Dodge Chargers (including the Daytona) and Challengers, Ford Escort MK1, Shaw’s Flipcar, Jensen Interceptor, Pure Vision’s Anvil ‘69 Ford Mustang, and Lykan Hypersport.
Watch the video above to see all crazy builds and cars featured throughout the franchise and let us know your favorites and what you want to see in the next film. Also find out how much damage accrued from the first seven movies.
