The adidas NMD XR1 Gets a BAPE-Inspired "1ST CAMO SHARK" Custom Treatment
Uncaged and hand-painted.

In the world of custom footwear, there is perhaps nothing more enticing than seeing a designer translate BAPE’s signature motif on a popular pair of sneakers. Recently, NYC-based creative Jon Ruiz has swathed the upper of the adidas Originals NMD XR1 in the streetwear giant’s beloved “1ST CAMO SHARK” pattern. Additionally, Ruiz removed the cage of the low-top runner and looped tonal black laces through the heel tab for a more personalized look. All in all, a not too shabby job for a mechanical engineering student by day and a sneaker tinkerer by night.
