Citroën Pays Tribute to the Iconic HY Van With the Type H Reinvention
Back after 70 years.

Italian automobile designer Flaminio Bertoni was perhaps one of the most influential forces in European car design of the past century. Responsible for the original Citroën 2 CV, the DV and the AMI-6 Sedan, his approach left its impression on the European road-trip aesthetic long after his death in 1964. Now one of his most recognisable silhouettes, the HY Van — favorite of rustic food-truck start-ups around the world — has been given a modern makeover to celebrate the design’s 70th anniversary. The ‘Type-H’ comes courtesy of designer David Obendorfer and features a fiber-glass suit that can built onto the chassis of a traditional Citroën Jumper van.
The Type H Reinvention will be limited to a series of 70 units, available exclusively at selected retailers around Italy.
