Black Weirdos's 2017 Spring/Summer Collection Interprets African Punk Revival
More silk souvenir jackets and pajama shirts to add to your arsenal.
Japanese label Black Weirdos released its “Hardcore Africa” lookbook for 2017 spring/summer. Founded in 2010 by creative duo MAGDRON and Mikuma Kamada, the collection was inspired by the ’80s African hardcore punk scene that combined folk music and chant. Filled with silk souvenir jackets, pajama shirts, baseball jerseys, bucket hats, and 3-button dashiki shirts, the lineup promises vibrant colors and pattern textiles that salute the African ancestry. The brand also launched “OFF-U SOUND RECORDINGS”, the first track of African post-punk band’s original sound that can be found here.
