'Spider-Man' Nemesis Venom Is Getting His Own Feature Film
With a release date slated for 2018.

Spider-Man‘s arch-enemy Venom is getting his own film, confirmed by Sony. The spin-off will be released in theaters on October 5, 2018. This comes as a relief for Spider-Man fans, as a Venom spin-off has been in the works for over a decade.
However, reports suggest that Venom will have nothing to do with the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Fans will remember that Sony scrapped the Andrew Garfield-helmed series when Spider-Man was slated to join Marvel. The character was then given to Tom Holland, who made his debut as Spidey in last year’s Captain America: Civil War. Holland will be embarking on his solo franchise this summer in Spider-Man: Homecoming. It may get confusing if Venom is launched as a complete standalone series, with no relation to the MCU Spider-Man.
Additionally, Sony is slated to launch an animated Spider-Man movie for December 2018, featuring Miles Morales as the titular character instead of Peter Parker. Despite all of this, are you excited for the Venom series to come alive?
