Violent Manga Series 'Devilman' Will Be a Netflix-Exclusive Anime

Netflix will be producing an exclusive anime based around Devilman, the manga created by Kiyoshi Nagai (better known as Go Nagai). The manga ran from 1972 to 1973 and follows a teenage boy named Akira Fudo. Moreover, it’s well-known for its intense violence and was considered one of the most violent and controversial manga series at the time. Netflix’s adaptation will be called Devilman: Crybaby, and will be written and directed by iconic Japanese anime writer Masaaki Yuasa (whose previous work includes Mind Game and Adventure Time).
Devilman: Crybaby is slated to be released in Japan sometime in 2018. Netflix will also be releasing an anime based around Godzilla.
