Instant hit.

If A Bathing Ape and Nike‘s Air Jordan 1 – two of streetwear’s most iconic emblems — joined forces, it would be a definite sneaker collab hit. Recently, a photo of a BAPE x Air Jordan 1 “Royal” surfaced on the internet via Instagram account @scoop208 without further information. The iconic hi-top silhouette features BAPE’s signature camo print on a black and blue upper and the famous BAPESTA star graphic in the place of the Swoosh. A white midsole, blue outsole and small ape logo on the heel counter keep it clean for a classic look.

Though we wish it wasn’t so, this pair appears to be a custom design. A very similar looking pair in “Bred” by bespoke sneaker specialist Jack The Ripper appeared in October of last year, and with further research into the customizer’s Instagram account, it’s confirmed that this “Royal” pair is indeed a custom. It would surely be a hot grab if this collaboration were to come true, but it seems highly unlikely. Share your thoughts in the comments below.
