Prior to becoming one of the biggest icons in pop culture, Kanye West was an aspiring rapper who apparently enjoyed scooters, Pelle Pelle leathers and neighborhood cyphers. Today, in a newly surfaced video dated September 22, 2000, West, rocking braids and braces, pulled up to a cypher in his scooter and laid some bars for the OGs. Who would’ve thought lines like “Kanye more important than Michael Jordan” and “Got this rap game locked you can call the warden” would ultimately set the stage for his storied College Dropout album that would release three years later?
