Watch This Epic Montage of Rolex Appearances in Film

Rolex was the official sponsor for the 89th Academy Awards, but the Swiss luxury watchmaker has always had a time-honored relationship with cinema. In a 60-second video titled “Celebrating Cinema” that debuted at this year’s Oscars, we see iconic actors such as Al Pacino, Marlon Brando, Harrison Ford and Paul Newman wearing Rolexes in memorable film scenes, chronicling Rolex’s long-standing influence on popular culture and, certainly, living up to its motto “It doesn’t just tell time. It tells history.” It’s also worth noting that the majority of these actors have/had no official sponsorship with Rolex, so the luxury watches played a part in cinema simply because they were the stars’ accessory of choice.
