Virgil Abloh Will Not Be Givenchy's New Creative Director
Confirmed by the brand’s spokesperson.

This past Monday, rumors were hot surrounding Virgil Abloh being a potential candidate for Givenchy’s creative director position following Riccardo Tisci’s exit. Now, the juicy speculation has been cleared up by the fashion house’s spokesperson who told WWD: “Mr. Abloh was not approached by the house and is not to join the organization.” Having also added that “Givenchy’s new creative organization will be communicated shortly.”
Still, the OFF-WHITE designer is sticking to the plan of propelling his brand (“case study“) to an even greater level. “My trajectory is to update and provide something new in the fashion industry by way of creating a project and using it as a case study on how to update a luxury house,” said Abloh to WWD in a previous statement. Conclusively, we’ll just have to wait and see what sort of platform the multi-hyphenate is thinking of next.
