A Collection of Bill Cunningham’s Personal Articles Have Been Donated to the New-York Historical Society
Including his trademark Biria bicycle, Nikon camera and blue field jacket.
In commemoration of the late, great Bill Cunningham, a handful of belongings from the acclaimed NY Times fashion photographer’s personal stash have been donated to the New-York Historical Society. Offered by John Kurdewan, Cunningham’s right-hand man and longtime friend Louise Doktor, items such as his Biria bicycle, Nikon camera and signature blue field-style jacket were among the memorabilia selected. Along with other personal articles, the newest pieces will join “Facades,” a collection of historic photos Cunningham donated way back in the ’70s. For those keen on seeing these famed items in person, a selection is scheduled for display later this spring.
