Vans and JOURNAL STANDARD reunite for a collaborative capsule collection with a good intention; proceeds from the sales of the exclusive collection will benefit the Shibuya Ward Association for Persons with Disabilities.
Each item sports a design hearkening back to Vans’ skateboarding heritage, boasting an array of Katakana and symbols related to the city juxtaposed with recognizable logos. The famous Shibuya crossing appears on a pair of standout slip-ons, which also feature the city’s name in Kanji on the insole. Meanwhile, long- and short-sleeved T-shirts and a coach jacket offer a variety of retro Vans motifs alongside “SHIBUYA CITY” branding along the sleeves and on the chest and back of each item. The collection features the circular Shibuya coat of arms design, which is intended to promote the cause of funding sports activities for persons with disabilities.
