Tom Sachs x Nike Mars Yard 2.0 High-Top Concept Becomes Reality
An improvement or step backwards?

Over the summer, Argo Concepts illustrated a high-top Mars Yard on his Instagram. Thanks to some enterprising Chinese factories, the conceptual sneaker has been granted an unofficial release.
The usual low-top silhouette has been elevated to a more boot-like shape, with a tonal buckle letting the wearer strap in for a tighter fit and dual pull tabs making it easy to squeeze into the shoe. Otherwise, the chunky bootleg is relatively similar to the original Tom Sachs x Nike model, with beige paneling and white mesh on the upper and a rugged, pale outsole.
With factories looking to Instagram for knockoff inspiration, anything’s fair game and some very unusual shoes may be hitting the black market in due time. In related news, a customizer has revealed a unique kid-sized Mars Yard.
