Mike Cherman Creates an Exclusive Nike T-Shirt for Art Basel 2017

Chinatown Market‘s Mike Cherman was enlisted by Nike to create a special edition T-shirt as part of an Art Basel 2017 exclusive. The bespoke tee portrays a sequence graphic of iconic basketball player Ray Allen’s shooting form. The LA-based designer hand-drew the visual and then printed it on the tee using three-dimensional puff ink. Additionally, he added 3M reflective details to commemorate his former ICNY imprint. For the back portion, Cherman added a personal quote in tonal black expressing “Everyone wants to be the shooter but nobody like to pass the ball.” The quote “resonates to me in sport and in life,” stated Cherman in the caption.
