MEANSWHILE Readies a Second Drop of Cold-Battling Gear for Fall/Winter 2017
Technical clothing that goes from the mountaintop to the coffee shop.
Technical clothing remains en vogue, with brands ranging in scale from ACG to Japan’s Whiz Limited keeping the style alive. Another Japanese imprint, MEANWHILE, has toiled in a similar vein to countrymen and wander, blending functional outdoor clothing with Japanese styling that ranges from traditional to modern.
The brand’s Fall/Winter 2017 lookbook emphasized understated creations and the new drop continues that trend. Encompassing a brief range of outerwear and accompanying items, the array recalls the sleek mountain-ready gear of Descente, executed with more emphasis on contemporary designs. Both hooded and collarless earth-tone outerwear feature an array of zipped and buttoned closures, while another jacket offers a built-in vest. Ventile and nylon textiles feature throughout, also seen in a heavily tapered pair of pants. A pair of trek-ready packs round out the range.
Shop the new range on the brand’s web store. For more subtly technical Japanese gear, take a look at nanamica’s Spring/Summer 2018 offering.
