Honda Unveils New Robotics Concepts Ahead of CES 2018
Four robots to help humanity.
For next month’s CES event, Honda has plans to introduce four new robot concepts. Known as the “3E (Empower, Experience, Empathy) Robotics Concept,” the project is intended to “advance mobility” and improve the day-to-day lives of the humans who use the products. Specifically, the Japanese company will be unveiling two mobility concepts for moving people and objects, a “companion bot” and an “autonomous off-road vehicle.” Each robot comes with unique special features, such as: the companion bot’s ability to express compassion and convey emotion, the mobility concept that functions as a chair for indoor or outdoor use, a mobility concept that’s outfitted with “multi-functional cargo space” and the “autonomous off-road concept” that operates similar to a futuristic quad-bike.
Outlining its mission statement, Honda hopes to help create a society where robotics and AI work together to aid humanity. From emergency management and recovery efforts to fun individual hobbies, the 3E concepts are here to help.
