Columbia Sportswear Launches 'Star Wars'-Inspired "Echo Base" Collection

Calling all Star Wars fans — Columbia Sportswear has released three limited-edition premium jackets inspired by outfits worn by Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia and Han Solo on the planet Hoth in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back.

Titled the “Echo Base” Collection after the Rebel’s secret base on the ice planet, the three jackets manage to capture the essence of each iconic character. This is thanks to the close work that Columbia has put in with Lucasfilm, with the smallest details from the original movie attire being combined with Columbia’s industry-leading technology — resulting in a truly impressive collection.

The Leia Organa™ Echo Base Jacket and vest combination is comprised of a durable, water-resistant cotton-blend fabric that is insulated with Omni-Heat™ Reflective lining. Featuring a compactable hood, gusset sleeves and vintage aesthetic, Leia’s jacket will keep you warm and comfortable in any conditions. The Luke Skywalker™ Echo Base Jacket is similar in construction and design to the Leia piece, yet it arrives in a more tanned color scheme with different character detailing. The collection is rounded out with the Han Solo™ Echo Base Parka that once again features a cotton-blend featuring Omni-Heat™ Reflective lining to keep you protected from the elements. The navy parka further includes multiple inner compartments and a quilted faux fur trimmed hood. All three limited-edition pieces are retailing for $400 USD and will be available at select Columbia brand retailers and on the company’s website on December 8.
