The Wealthy Download Themselves Into New Bodies in Netflix's 'Altered Carbon'
The Philip K. Dick award-winning book is hitting the small screen next year.
Originally announced in January 2016, Netflix‘s Altered Carbon finally has a release date.
The Richard K. Morgan-penned steampunk thriller is part of Morgan’s Takeshi Kovacs series. The first of three books, Altered Carbon focuses on the distant 26th century, in which humanity can live forever thanks to data-storing stacks located in the spinal column. As noted in the trailer, death is often a mere inconvenience because people can be restored into new bodies — if they have the funds. The hardboiled thriller is guaranteed to offer plenty of violence, action and perhaps some Black Mirror-style criticisms of technology.
Mark your calendar for the series’ debut on February 2. In the meantime, DC unveiled the new Robin, star of next year’s Titans.
