Dubbed its “most meaningful project to date,” Canadian brand wings+horns has partnered with Kyoto Montsuki Company — a fourth generation formal kimono business — to launch an all-black capsule collection, consisting of crewnecks, sweatpants and jackets.

Working solely with black, each piece is hand-dyed by the Kyoto-based company. The company’s historic dyeing process evolved through competition to produce the blackest montsuki, and this competition among dye houses is why Japanese black oxide finishes are regarded as the best in the world. Built with a goal to bring back the timeless spirit of black, wings+horns founder Craig Atkinson aims to work with Kyoto Montsuki Company on the virtue of diligence, process, and expertise.

You can shop the collection now on wingsandhorns.com as well as local available stockists. For more from wings+horns, check out the brand’s Fall/Winter 2017 range.
