Australia’s Song for the Mute has readied a new range of goods for Spring/Summer 2018. Building off of past collections, “WANDER” features a decidedly more graphic bent.
The spirit of adventurous drifters informs the line, with its earthy color palette and raw hems. Aged clothing and washed out colors maintain the spirit of wearing vintage, well-loved clothing while traveling the Earth, while woven Japanese denim and Italian seersuckers ensure that the ragged garments are built to last. Hand-screened graphics decorate the line, with “WANDER,” old family photos and the coordinates of Song for the Mute’s studio emblazoned on hoodies and jackets. An oversized knit sweater from Spring/Summer 2017 resurfaces, as does the brand’s “Bucket Shorts,” now sporting a translucent knit skirt. Everything is cut loose and there’s plenty of unconventional pattern and fabric mixing, like the gold satin sleeves attached to a black cotton bomber jacket and the uneven checks on an oversized camp-collar shirt.
The collection is currently available for pre-order on Song for the Mute’s webstore, with items shipping January 15 – February 15, 2018.
