Goodhood Reworks Dr. Martens Iconic 8-Hole Boot for Newest Collaboration
An exclusive look at the second part of the store’s anniversary celebrations.
Goodhood continues its anniversary celebrations, this time working with iconic brand Dr. Martens. The two entities have reworked the classic 8-hole boot, using a black suede upper, white accenting throughout the shoe, and a fur-lined interior for warmth.
Asked why Goodhood wanted to work with Dr. Martens, co-founder Jo Sindle explained that “Dr. Martens position in British cultural history is set in stone and told many, many times and thus it’s an absolute honour to be allowed to produce our own version with them.” The main issue with the collaboration, however, was adding a twist to what is otherwise a rather straightforward piece of footwear. Acknowledging this, Goodhood’s other co-founder — Kyle Stewart — noted “It was actually harder than you think. I have a thing for fur lined shoes — in winter it’s a go-to feature for me. So that was the first element we wanted to incorporate. We had seen a pair of suede DM’s and thought that it was really fresh. The final touch was the white detailing instead of yellow.”
