NxWorries Brings the Funk & Soul for "Uptwnmixx" of "Suede"
The second single for the ‘Yes Lawd!’ remix project.
There aren’t many modern acts capable of crafting the sort of forward-thinking soul, funk, R&B and hip-hop hybrid that NxWorries does so effortlessly. Never ones to stay complacent, Anderson .Paak and Knxwledge have reconnected to take their signature sound to the next level with a new batch of striking remixes.
Announced last month, NxWorries’ Yes Lawd! remix project was introduced alongside the release of the “Best One” composition. Further promoting the effort, the two multi-talented artists have shared a follow-up rework of “Suede.” Dubbed the “Uptwnmixx,” this one slows the music down to make sure you feel every heavy bit of funk and soul. When it comes to reworking older records or producing new beats, Knxwledge is quickly earning a reputation as one of his generation’s strongest talents.
You can stream NxWorries’ “Uptwnmixx” of “Suede” above, while Stones Throws plans to drop the Yes Lawd! remixes on Stones Throw on November 17. Late last month, Westside Gunn showed his appreciation for Knxwledge’s abilities by including his work on his latest project, Hitler Wears Hermes 5.
