A Closer Look at the KITH x nonnative x adidas UltraBOOST Mid & Consortium Twinstrike

As Black Friday draws closer, KITH grants a closer look at the two adidas shoes it collaborated on with Japan’s nonnative. Both the UltraBOOST Mid and Consortium Twinstrike feature overhauled designs, indicative of the brands’ creative drive.

A unique knitting technique consisting of a hefty wool-blend Primeknit meant to stand up to winter temperatures is seen on the UltraBOOST Mid. 3M yarn is woven into a patchwork design — referencing nonnative’s Japanese heritage — keeping in line with the shoe’s monochrome, mostly-black color base. Further emphasizing the sneaker’s seasonal motif, it features a tread sole for added slip-combating traction. Meanwhile, the collaborative Twinstrike shoe employs premium, cream-colored nubuck over a one-piece sock construction. The upper is tonally sound, from the laces to the pull tab on the heel. A transparent gum sole and white midsole complement the upper, while a variety of cobranding adds hints of visual interest to the tongue and toebox.

The UltraBoost Mid retails for $240 USD and the Twinstrike weighs in at $220 USD. Although the former will be available at KITH and its website, United Arrows stores and web store and Coverchord, the Twinstrike will be exclusively sold on the new KITH app, and won’t be available elsewhere.

KITH is initiating a giveaway to win “the 2016 multi-knit Aspen UltraBOOST Mid, the 2016 Friends & Family White/Chrome UltraBOOST Mid (which will never be released), the upcoming Black Friday Kith x nonnative UltraBOOST Mid ATR, and this year’s Friends & Family Black/Chrome UltraBOOST Mid ATR (which also will never release).” The winner receives all four pairs of sneakers in their size and in order to enter, you just sign up via the KITH app.

Check out the KITH app in action below and set your alarms for the sneaker’s release at 12 a.m. EST on November 24, Black Friday. To complement the sneakers, KITH and nonnative have also partnered up on a clothing line.
