Hanon Reworks the adidas New York With Seasonal Flair

Scotland’s Hanon reunites with adidas Originals for a new iteration of the German brand’s New York runner. For this release — dubbed “Dark Storm” — the retailer draws inspiration from the moody Scottish skies.

Citing their country’s “three-seasons-in-a-day weather” as an influence, Hanon reworks the New York sneaker with a fade pattern executed in woven jacquard on the upper and a Dellinger webbing midsole. A muted monochrome palette informs much of the shoe’s colorway, with the sockliner and sole offering a colorful respite. Featuring a soft leather interior, the outside of the shoe features hits of suede and plenty of co-branding on the lace loops, insole, Three Stripes branding, heel, and even the tips of the laces. Three sets of laces come with the “Dark Storm”, allowing the wearer to customize the shoe to suit their mood and the weather.
