Kiko Kostadinov and ASICS Drop the Perfect Chunky Running Shoe
Dad sneakers receive a progressive redesign.

After a handful of teasers, British designer Kiko Kostadinov has revealed his ASICS collaboration in its full glory. The pair have united for a trio of chunky runners, riffing off of typically unfashionable ASICS silhouettes.
The black, yellow and grey sneakers keep up with the current trend of ugly sneakers, but establish their own voice. Utilizing ASICS’ FlyteFoam™ technology, Kostadinov establishes a striking silhouette by meshing together elements of other ASICS runners to create something unique. In line with ASICS sneakers normally reserved exclusively for running — like the GEL-Nimbus and GEL-Kayano — the shoe features comfort-minded design elements alongside clever design touches. The addition of the pull tab on the heel and mixed-media detailing on the upper makes for a shoe that’s both eye-catching and functional.
The sneakers are set to release January 4 at Dover Street Market‘s physical locations and e-shop. ASICS is staying busy, with several collabs hitting the streets this month.
