Travis Scott Breaks Down His Ksubi Collaboration
The ‘Rodeo’ star opens up to ‘Vogue.’

This past April, Travis Scott revealed plans to produce a joint collection with Australian label Ksubi. Debuted during his Coachella outing, the Texas superstar’s new line is said to primarily focus on denim goods and is billed as a sort of ode to his home state’s vibrant culture. Delving deep into the specifics of his latest fashion venture for the first time, Travis Scott opens up about his new Ksubi collaboration for an exclusive Vogue feature.
“That shit is dope. Dumb crazy. It makes you feel like you’re in an action movie,” says the “Butterfly Effect” artist. “Certain brands cater to the culture … Sometimes clothes make it through generations of artists, and it’s just because the designer is designing to the time and the culture. That’s what I think is dope about brands [like Ksubi]: It’s dope when a brand can captivate what’s going on with kids—it’s not out of touch. With or without me.”
Travis Scott and Ksubi’s collaborative run is comprised of 10 pieces; destroyed denim and clothes that “hang off the body like if Batman went health-goth” make up the entirety of the first drop. “Distressed jeans are a sign you’ve been through some sh*t, more so than a clean jean,” explains Scott. “I just wanted to keep it Texas culture—just real simple. Ready-to-wear dope sh*t.”
For those Travis Scott diehards who are particularly devoted to their favorite artist, the 25-year-old assures us that his creations with Ksubi are just as much a part of his style DNA as the other items we have seen him wear and love. “This is the sh*t that I’m like, man, when I’m dippin’ at my crib … This is what I want to slide out in, wear everyday, all day, when I’m chillin’ at the crib, when I just wanna take a shower after getting out of my pajamas, and put these on, go outside, and chill. And it’s fresh, too, [for a] party. I like to mix up levels. I didn’t want to make nothing that was too out of reach.”
Travis Scott’s new Vogue feature is now available for reading online. Previously, Travis Scott linked up with his latest Cactus Jack Records signee Smokepurpp for a new joint single titled “Fingers Blue.”
