The First Trailer for the Animated Christmas Film 'The Star' Is Here
Retelling the story of the birth of Jesus.
For the 2017 holiday movie season, Sony plans to drop a new animated film titled The Star. Based on the story surrounding the birth of Jesus Christ, The Star focuses on retelling the tale from the point of view of the animals involved with the historical event. To promote the forthcoming movie and introduce its plot, Sony Pictures Animated has unveiled the lead trailer for The Star.
Heavy on the comedy, the new Star teaser reveals the movie’s central team of four-legged protagonists and gives us a preview of what to expect once it hits theaters. Presenting the story of the first Christmas “through a whole new set of eyes,” The Stars injects a host of lighthearted jokes and kid-friendly cartoons into an otherwise serious religious happening. Most notably, the cast behind The Star is an all-star roundup of “who’s who” in the entertainment industry; Oprah Winfrey, Gabriel Iglesias, Ving Rhames, Tracy Morgan, Tyler Perry, Anthony Anderson, Steven Yeun, Gina Rodriguez, Keegan-Michael Key and other Hollywood heavyweights all show up for vocal work.
You can view the very first trailer for Sony Pictures Animated’s The Star above — the film itself will arrive in theaters on November 17.
