The World's Greatest Cars Compete in an Epic Airstrip Drag Race
Tesla, Aston Martin, Ferrari and Porsche all take part.
If you’ve ever wondered which of the world’s best commercial cars were the fastest, now you can find out — via drag race — with Motor Trend recently gathering 12 contenders from its 2017 Best Driver’s Car competition and pitting them against each other. The illustrious list includes the Alfa Romeo Giulia, Aston Martin DB11, Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE, Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport, Ferrari 488 GTB, Lexus LC500, McLaren 570GT Mercedes Benz AMG GTR, Nissan GT-R Nismo, Porsche 718 Cayman S, Porsche 911 Turbo S and Tesla Model S P100D.
The team took to the 15,000-foot Vandenberg AFB airstrip — usually used for rocket launch tests — for the contest, and, not to give anything away, the winner may be surprising to some viewers. Watch the video above and see just how your favored car fared.
