Anta Made a Nike Air VaporMax Copycat
The sincerest form of flattery?
In recent months, Nike‘s Air VaporMax has grown to be one of the most hyped sneakers of the year; from the Air Laceless iteration to the “Triple Black” and COMME des GARÇONS collaboration restock, the style has been pushed, promoted and given enough great models to push it to the status of a household name among even the most picky sneakerheads.
“Good artists copy; great artists steal.” In the world of fashion, companies across the spectrum of streetwear and the high-end realm appear to live by that mantra and then some. However, with the latest release from Chinese sportswear outfit ANTA, that famous quote might have been taken too literally.
Following in the footsteps of the VaporMax bloodline, ANTA has produced a shoe that’s virtually identical to the Air VaporMax and much, much cheaper. Available in blue, grey (two types), white and red colorways, ANTA’s new piece follows the VaporMax blueprint incredibly closely and might earn the company some serious legal issues in the near future.
