JAY-Z Is Distancing Himself From the Latest Roc Nation Lawsuit
For using the label’s logo on MLB hats.
Back in May, JAY-Z and Roc Nation were hit with a lawsuit after using the brand’s logo on a series of Major League Baseball hats. It was initially reported that the rights to use the logo were purchased by Iconix Brand Group for $204 million USD and the group is looking for $10 million USD from each party for damages. According to TMZ, new documents state that the Brooklyn rapper is now looking to be left out of this lawsuit completely. JAY-Z’s main argument is that he and Roc Nation are separate entities and that Iconix’s beef is the brand alone. Currently on his 4:44 tour, Jigga says he had no say when Roc Nation decided to use the logo for the hats and that Iconix cannot prove whether or not he was involved in the decision making process in any way.
Take a look at the hats in question below and stick around for more updates surrounding this situation.
