Virgil Abloh Wins the 2017 Footwear News Achievement Award For "Shoe of the Year"
A prestigious award for the Virgil Abloh x Air Jordan 1.

With the 2017 Footwear News Achievement Awards (FNAA) set to take place next month, Off-White™ founder Virgil Abloh has already claimed one of the show’s most coveted awards. According to the company’s website, Abloh has been given the “Shoe of the Year” award for his collaborative Air Jordan 1 model he released with Nike back in September. Abloh’s victory puts him in some pretty elite company, joining fellow award winners Rihanna for the PUMA Fenty Creeper and Kanye West for the adidas YEEZY BOOST. Other announced award winners ahead of the ceremony include Gianvito Rossi for Designer of the Year and KITH founder Ronnie Fieg for Collaborator of the Year.
The award victory adds to what’s been a very busy 2017 for Abloh. Earlier this week, Abloh delivered an hour-long lecture at Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design, where he talked about his creative process and collaborating with the likes of Nike and IKEA. Let us know in the comments if you think Virgil Abloh’s Air Jordan 1 is worthy of the award.
