Emergent Japanese label COTE MER has debuted its collection for Spring/Summer 2018. The young label’s playful designs incorporate an array of patterns and colors, disregarding conservative style.

COTE MER’s design duo source and sew together vintage clothing to create its varied collections. Ranging from basic shirts to accessories, the extensive line encompasses everything from athletic wear to fringed leather jackets. Nothing is done halfway — band T-shirts meet abstract prints, recalling Rebuild by NEEDLES, sweatpants are divided in half and jacket sleeves are exchanged for sleeves from other outerwear.

No overseas stockists offer COTE MER, but similarly bold offerings from NEEDLES were shown off in intelligence magazine’s recent editorial.
