Alejandro Rodriguez channeled his personal history for Beautiful Fül‘s Fall 2017 collection. “Smile Now, Cry Later” takes cues from the designer’s youth spent growing up in Los Angeles.

Casual staples like slim, ripped denim and hoodies are juxtaposed with slim suiting, encompassing a range of styles in one release. The collection’s name is embroidered on the back of leather jackets, contrasting the quintessential biker gear with the softness of a rose graphic. Also present are layering pieces in the form of flannel shirts and waffle-knit long-sleeves, creating a complete wardrobe of West Coast looks for the cold weather.

The label’s collection is out now on its website and in-store. Another California designer recently tapped into their roots as well – Philip Lim channeled his experiences on the West Coast into his Ugg collab.
