Louis C.K.'s 'I Love You, Daddy' Showcases the Tribulations of Fatherhood
“A girl that age is getting into trouble, and if she loves her daddy, that means you’re doing nothing.”
Louis C.K. returns to the big screen in his new film I Love You, Daddy, which is starring and directed by Louis himself. I Love You, Daddy marks C.K’s return to the director’s chair 16 years after the release of 2001’s Pootie Tang.
The trailer showcases a thriving TV writer-producer-father (C.K.) who panics when his “sweet” 17-year-old daughter China (Chloë Grace Moretz) starts spending time with a legendary movie director (John Malkovich) — who is in his ’60s and notorious for dating “really young women.” The film evokes the charm of a Woody Allen film, and, indirectly, alludes to the director’s personal life.
