Journal Standard Drops "Modern American" Fall/Winter 2017 Lookbook
The Japanese label celebrates two decades.

One of Japan’s largest retailers, Journal Standard has been in business for 20 years as of Fall/Winter 2017. As such, the label has prepared an extensive lookbook to show off select wares for the upcoming season.
Although Journal Standard prides themselves on its personalized take on “Modern American” style, the lookbook’s title is actually informed by an imaginary hot dog cart entitled “MODERN AMERICAN.” Regardless of inspiration, the outfits epitomize Journal Standard’s understated take on staples and layering. A variety of minimal fall looks are underscored by muted prints, casual sneakers, and statement outerwear pieces. Items from Individualized Shirts and a Journal Standard x Champion collaboration appear, as does a pair of Kaptain Sunshine x Gramicci pants.
Items from the shoppable lookbook are available on Journal Standard’s web store. Although not featured, Journal Standard recently joined up with Reebok on a Pump Supreme, and tapped Larry Clark for a collaborative capsule.
