Whomever you support, Olivier Giroud’s goal will have had some resonance. Giroud’s ‘scorpion’ goal in Arsenal‘s 2-0 win over Crystal Palace is now considered as one of “the top five” strikes for manager Arsene Wenger. Wenger states Thierry Henry and Dennis Bergkamp goals are among his favorites, but “this will be the Giroud goal. Technically it’s not impossible but you must have that reflex. The cross didn’t come ideally and Olivier did something special.” The goal broke the deadlock as Arsenal moved into the top three on the Premier League table with a comfortable home win.
