Celebs Reveal Two Sides of Their Personas in Intimate Portraits
Andrew H. Walker captures private and public aspects of their personalities, split side-by-side.

While celebrities are constantly having their pictures taken and displayed to the public, photographer Andrew H. Walker decided to do things a bit differently when he took portraits of over 50 stars at the Toronto Film Festival. He had them pose as they normally would portray themselves to the rest world, in addition to their private personas, which aren’t as prevalent. With nothing more than a bare table and a tape mark to cross over and transform into their other self, the set of diptychs give an interesting look at how some celebrities contrast from their public and private lives. As told to the Daily Mail, Walker mentioned that “it’s a constant struggle to figure out how they live their life outwardly and inwardly at the same time—and how they rectify those two places.”
Actors and musicians including Lupita Nyong’o, Pharrell, Richard Gere, Anne Hathaway, Rami Malek, Jeremy Renner, Taraji P. Henson, Oscar Issac, Gael Garcia Bernal, John Legend, Gerard Butler and Amy Adams were just a few of the names who participated in the series.
