Sneaker Freaker and New Balance Team up Once Again to Unleash the NB997.5 "Tassie Tiger"
Combining two of the most highly regarded models in the New Balance 990 series into one animalistic silhouette.
Going by the name of the NB997.5 “Tassie Tiger,” Sneaker Freaker and New Balance link up once again to unleash yet another fierce sneaker model. Deriving its name from a now-extinct beast that once roamed the Tasmanian wild, the NB997.5 incorporates characteristics of the tiger and its surroundings with its triangular fangs placed on the sole and use of the blackest suede found anywhere within the animal kingdom. Other components include the quirky shade of terracotta suede as well as the salt and pepper embellishments found on the sole. Considered a hybrid silhouette which fuses the midsole of the NB998 along with the refined upper of the NB997, the Tassie Tiger also embraces New Balance’s newer tech advancements in favoring the REVlite impact cushioning. These new models are slated for an online release as of July 16 and will also be available at select New Balance retailers on July 23 as an Asia exclusive.
