Vice Expands Its Digital Empire to Art & Fashion With Acquisition of 'Garage' Magazine
Another property to add to its already expansive portfolio.
Vice Media has announced its acquisition of London-based Garage Magazine, a biannual print publication covering topics pertaining to art, architecture, fashion and design. Founded in 2011 by Dasha Zhukova, the current wife of Chelsea F.C. owner Roman Abramovich, this latest move will see the magazine expand its editorial teams in London and New York, while also facilitating additional international outposts across the globe for broader coverage. Perhaps the biggest change of all will be the introduction of a Garage channel to Vice’s existing portfolio of digital sites, which already includes the likes of Vice.com, i-D, Broadly, Noisey, Munchies and Motherboard. The youth-oriented media company has also revealed it plans to continue rolling out the print issue on a biannual basis.
