McLaren Covers the 675LT Spider in Carbon Fiber

McLaren Special Operations introduces the super-limited Carbon Series LT.

Perhaps inspired by its out of nowhere F1 offering — a blacked-out beauty that was one of just six crafted in the renowned supercar’s final model year — McLaren has given yet another one of its vehicles a deep, dark treatment. Like that 1998 F1, this 675LT was specially crafted by McLaren Special Operations — unlike the F1, however, this creation comes decked out in glossy “Ceramic Gray” carbon fiber and eschews paint altogether. With even more carbon fiber than the original (the 675LT already sports a bevy of lightweight paneling), the special Carbon Series LT likely sheds a ton of weight (though specific numbers haven’t been disclosed by MSO) thanks to the use of the material for the retractable roof and tonneau, A-pillars, bonnet and rear deck, side blades, complete front and rear wings and even the fuel filler flap. Couple those weight-saving updates with the 675LT’s original 666 horsepower 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 and you have the best performing version of the vehicle to date.

Good luck getting behind the wheel of one of these, however: the Carbon Series LT is even more limited than the OG 675LT’s 500-unit run and all 25 have already been spoken for.
