Klipsch Celebrates Its 70th Anniversary With a Throwback to the Original Klipschorn Loudspeaker
Bringing a flagship design into the 21st century.
American speaker company Klipsch Audio is commemorating its 70th anniversary with a limited run of its Klipschorn speaker series. The original Klipschorn loudspeaker was released in 1946 in order to allow audiences and audiophiles alike to enjoy the live performance experience in the comfort of their own homes. This revamped take on the classic technology features some subtle design enhancements, veneered Australian walnut wood, special edition branding and a plaque celebrating the company’s history. As far as design upgrades go, the commemorative woofer features a fully enclosed low-frequency horn encased in a corner-shaped enclosure that delivers a thumping bass performance. Each pair of speakers are built with matching wood panels, creating a set of identical twins, virtually indistinguishable from one another.
