New York Mayor Bill de Blasio Responds to Kanye West's Block Party Wishes
With surprising results.

It all seemed to go downhill after Kanye West’s Governors Ball set was cancelled due to inclement weather in NYC. As a way to make up for the cancellation, ‘Ye hit Hot 97’s Summer Jam stage for a guest appearance alongside his G.O.O.D. Music family and friends, including Desiigner, 2 Chainz, Travis Scott, Big Sean and Pusha T. After arguably one of the show’s best performances, Kanye West wasn’t satisfied. Not too long after performing, Virgil Abloh and Kanye expressed that a pop-up show would be held in New York City at 2 a.m. EST Monday morning. As expected, pandemonium ensued which resulted in an endless amount of fans flooding the streets outside of New York’s Webster Hall.
Ultimately ending in Kanye not performing due to venue cancellations and other issues, it was seen via Kim Kardashian West’s Snapchat that ‘Ye even attempted to call Bill de Blasio in order to conduct the event in a proper manner.
The mayor of New York has since responded to the West’s attempts from last night with positivity. Willing to put on a show that will benefit the youth of the city, it’s only a matter of time before we see a show with Kanye West and Bill de Blasio behind its scenes. Check out the mayor’s tweet below.
