Aston Martin & Zagato Are Actually Putting Their Carbon Fiber Vanquish Concept Into Production
“Unprecedented customer interest” means the beautiful V12 concept will soon be a reality.
It’s a rare thing for a concept vehicle to ever make it to the production lines, so Aston Martin fans have reason to rejoice: the storied British automotive imprint has announced that its gorgeous Zagato-designed Vanquish concept will actually see a limited production run. Originally introduced at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este at Lake Como, Italy back in May, the design sees Italy-based Zagato injecting a little Italian flair into the Vanquish coupe as a nod to the old DB4 GT Zagato from 1960. The result is a striking red Vanquish mixed with the LED technology of the Vulcan supercar and one that packs a 6.0-liter V12 — capable of 576 horsepower and acceleration from 0 to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds — under its carbon fiber-clad exterior. Accordingly, Aston Martin promises “a unique GT experience” in the form of a specially tuned suspension as well.
Built to order, the Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato will be limited to just 99 units with deliveries expected to kick off in the first quarter of 2017.
