Witness Nat Turner Lead a Liberation Movement in the New Trailer for 'The Birth of a Nation'
A new look into the strenuous fight for freedom.
Producer and director Nate Parker also takes on the acting role of Nat Turner in the upcoming film The Birth of a Nation. Taking place in Southampton, Virginia in 1831, the film depicts the journey of a former slave in America who aims to free enslaved African Americans. As a result, a violent back and forth ensues involving whites and then-enslaved African Americans. Seemingly a response to the 1915 KKK based-film with the same name, this year’s edition of The Birth of a Nation presents thrill, drama and further emotions that’ll have you at the edge of your seat.
The Birth of a Nation will officially release in theaters on October 7.
