This Bullet-Inspired Ashtray Wants You to Rethink Those Cigarettes
“Cigarettes are the new bullets and tobacco is the new gunpowder.”
Who doesn’t love a little tongue-in-cheek design sensibility? That’s exactly what designer Slava Balbek is offering up with the Tuyvo 7.62. A socially-conscious ashtray, the design takes on the look of an oversized 7.62 caliber bullet and encourages smokers to rethink those cigarettes. It’s concrete construction even features a helpful reminder ringed around the top: “Smoking Kills” in Balbek’s native Ukrainian.
Given that the Tuyvo is actually a functional ashtray, however (and not just a pretty sculpture), it can only be taken but so seriously.
