Sir Paul Smith's Psychedelic Gufram Cactus Coat-Rack
Inspired by ’70s counterculture.
British designer Sir Paul Smith has teamed up with Italian furniture brand Gufram to gives its iconic cactus-shaped coat stand a trippy update inspired by the ’70s — the decade the coat-rack was originally released. In a conversation with Dezeen Magazine, Smith described the final product as a “creativity peyote” inspired by the “hallucinogenic vibes” and the hippie counterculture. The multicolored conversation piece features a bright blend of pinks, blues, reds and black.
The rack will be released in a limited run of just 169 units, all of which will be displayed at this year’s Milan Design Week.
