Nike Updates the Air Veer for a 2016 Spring/Summer Return
The old Bruce Smith favorite makes a comeback.
Most closely associated with NFL Hall-of-Famer, Bills icon, and legendary Virginia Tech Hokie Bruce Smith, Nike’s classic Air Veer is making a return this summer with some updates better suited for Spring/Summer 2016. While the mid-top trainer largely stays true to the aesthetic of the original (the look remains nearly identical to its mid-’90s brethren and retains its signature midfoot strap), the OG leather upper has been swapped out in favor of breathable mesh for the summer months. Further highlighting the look is the use of shiny patent leather along the strap while the sole has been tweaked to employ the Swoosh’s hexagonal Zoom cushioning pods.
Available now from spots like invincible, 2016’s rendition of the Air Veer will soon be available at additional NSW spots across the globe.
